Eremurus and alliums - perfect.
These foxtail lillies are e. himalaicus, and they shine like candles in the spring sunshine.
I have five, but back in early April, a caterpillar chewed away two of the emerging blooms. Bloody caterpiller, left me with three. Anyway, I need more, so come the Autumn I'll pick up another five or six bulbs.
Incredibly beautiful with the sunshine highlighting the colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wilma. Early May sunshine doesn't 'washout' the colour like the sun in high summer.
DeleteLove the bronze fennel!
ReplyDeleteThanks. The fennel billows as it's in a growth spurt right now.
DeleteWhat a beautiful enclosed garden and I love the stone wall of your building as the backdrop. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThankyou. The stone building was an old cattle barn.

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda!
DeleteWhat a great garden area. You are so lucky to have the beauty for a garden. JC
ReplyDeleteThanks Jake.
DeleteA stunning combination Rob. What a shame about the hungry caterpillar. Hope that it suffered with chronic indigestion.
ReplyDeleteI picked off each caterpillar by hand and dealt with them. They'd chewed right through the stems of a couple.
Deleteman those alliums are huge
ReplyDeleteThey've multiplied over the last few years.
DeleteI need to check for caterpillar on my Eremurus. Did not know they loved them! Thank you for the tip.
ReplyDeleteGroetjes from Holland
