Garden fête season is underway...

We love this time of year!

The first weekend in May -possibly our favourite month in the garden - see's the local plant fairs get underway. Everything is acid green, full of gardening promise and the fête at LA Brande near Le Banquet sets the tone.

Old roses, perennials, annuals, seeds. Specialists in this, specialists  in that, the great and the gardening good descend on these events. The sun was shining, the thermometer in the twenties, a perfect day.

This particular pépinière were one time holders of the national collection of Pelargoniums. We were so tempted by the huge array of amazing scented leaf varieties but in the end plumped for a pretty purple flowered specimen.

Our new favourite pelargonium in situ at chez nous. Beautiful. Roll on May!
